Caroline’s Monthly Letter

Dear Friends,

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a local supermarket had a large display of school uniforms under a “Back to School” banner – at least two weeks before the end of term. It seems mean, before the children have even broken up for the holidays. We seem to live in a society that is always pushing us forward with unnecessary haste, we are encouraged to jump to conclusions, rather than take the time to explore an issue at depth.

As the summer temperatures soar lets ignore the pressure and step back and slow down, enjoy the wonders and beauty of God’s world around us (especially if you get the chance to get to the seaside for an ice cream).

Ancient wisdom tells us:            .

For everything there is a season, and a tirne for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time to weep, and a time to laugh;        ,

a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to throwaway stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to throwaway;

a time to tear, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate;

a time for war, and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3.1-8

With Every Blessing,

Caroline
