Lent Lunches

Please see News and Forthcoming Events for details of the 2020 Lent Lunches.

Our Lent Lunches have continued for some 20 years now and in that time we have raised some £20,000 for various charities.  It was conceived as an opportunity for co-operation between the Parish Church and Groeslwyd Presbyterian Chapel.  Members of both organisations prepare a simple meal of soup and roll, cheese and biscuits, bara brith with tea or coffee.  Served in the Old School Hall we meet every other Wednesday during Lent and, as well as providing physical sustenance, we hope to engender an atmosphere of fellowship and spirituality.  Our Lunch ends with a spiritual reflection and prayer and a cash donation or a commitment with gift aid.  The freewill offertory taken at the joint Good Friday Service is added to the contribution we make to our given charity.

That, as a small village, we have been able to give away such a large amount of money, points to the generosity of our community; hopefully such arrangements will continue in the future.  Our giving and donations for 2019 can be found at 2019 Church Donations.
