“From my bookshelf” is an occasional series of book reviews by members of our congregation the first one is ‘Here and Now’ Living in the Spirit, by Henri Nouwen, reviewed by Bethan Scotford.
Bethan has kindly reviewed another book for us, Pippa’s Progress. This one on the theme of pilgrimage; which is high on the Diocese’s list of ‘events’ this year.
Also included are some short poems submitted by members of our congregation. These include a short poem by Thom M Shuman titled ‘Where You Sit’ and an extract from ‘Eggs and Ashes’ – by Ruth Burgess for Mothering Sunday.
As we approach Easter, perhaps we are more ‘tuned in ‘ to Jesus’ passion and sacrifice than at other times. Here is a touching story from the isle of Iona.
