Bellringing

Guilsfield Church has an active bell ringing band that ring for services, weddings and st aelhaiarns ringersspecial occasions.  We meet on Tuesday evenings for practice and are members of the Montgomeryshire Branch of the North Wales Association of Church Bell Ringers (NWACBR).  Together with the Choir, we rarely pass up the opportunity to enjoy ourselves, including at the Choir and Bell Ringers Christmas Party.  Visitors and new members are most welcome.

Bell ringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps keep you fit; it also makes a glorious sound.  Many consider ringing to be their contribution to church life, others doBell Learner it for the pure pleasure it brings.  Ringing is well within the capabilities of most people; ringers come from all walks of life and range in age from ten to those in their eighties.  Bell ringing will give you a global group of friends, a lifelong learning experience, the chance to maintain a traditional skill, a way to provide a service to the church, the ability to take part in a team activity, a great mental workout and the opportunity to visit amazing places. So why not learn to ring?  If you would like to try the ancient art of bell ringing, come along to a practice night or try it out at our open tower day each year, when you will also get the chance to view the bells and gain access to the top of the tower for a splendid view over the whole village.
